In April of 2012, Comcast and The Factory Interactive launched Yo Soy Hialeah - one of six pilot locations part of Comcast's Project Open Voice initiative (POV). Yo Soy Hialeah is a hyper-local destination portal designed to provide Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) organizations a unique and powerful tool for reaching and engaging community residents. The Project Open Voice initiative is Comcast's first foray into extending public service tools and announcement availability.

The Challenge

As a new initiative, the Yo Soy Hialeah project needed to organically grow a network of Content Partners from a finite pool of PEG and Private organizations within the community; provide feedback to the YSH development team as the project's core programming took shape; and aggregate a audience that would use the property on a recurring basis.

The Solution

The Factory Interactive provided Comcast with local management services for the Yo Soy Hialeah project. Our teams have been tasked with identifying and empowering community organizations such as The City of Hialeah, the Girl Scouts of America, YMCA and the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce with tools to directly reach their constituents via PSA-style programming, event notices and collaborative project tools.

Yo Soy Hialeah content partners are able to share video-based content, announcements, events and even collaborate with Hialeah residents on special projects via the web site. Powerful social engagement tools have been bundled within the project to increase awareness and allow visitors to generate and participate in active conversations. The Yo Soy Hialeah project is the only POV property available in multiple languagegge third and fourth quarters of 2012, The Factory Interactive's efforts will expand to include audience aggregation, promotion of the site via social and traditional marketing channels and the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the site.
